ChanServ allows you to register and control various aspects of channels. ChanServ can often prevent malicious users from "taking over" channels by limiting who is allowed channel operator priviliges. Some available commands are listed below; to use them, type /ChanServ command. For more information on a specific command, type /ChanServ HELP command. Any channel which is not used for 60 days (i.e. which no user on the channel's access list enters for that period of time) will be automatically dropped.
This service is intended to provide a way for IRC users to ensure their channel is protected against "taking over" It is NOT intended to facilitate "stealing" of channels or other malicious actions. Abuse of Chanserv will result in, at minimum, loss of the channel(s) of the user who is abusing. |
